STUDENTS' EDUCATIONAL TOURS - UK

A second batch of Eassociates Consulting’s 2019 Students’ Educational Tour to London, United Kingdom took place during the schools’ midterm break from October 24 – November 3, 2019.

The program was organized for the few students that had delayed visa issuances. These students were from Queens College Yaba, Lagos and Federal Science & Technical College Yaba, Lagos, and they all went in the company of the Managing Consultant of Eassociates Consulting.

It was an awesome and exciting educational experience for the students. They had a delightful and comfortable stay at Ibis Style London Croydon, with provision of Nigerian dishes for dinner, creating the usual feeling of “home away from home” for all the participants.

They also participated in a one-day leadership short course, titled “The Leader I choose to be”, organized by Beehive Tuition Services at their North Romford Conference Centre on October 26, 2019, with Korede Awobowale, the founder and Managing Director of Beehive Tuition.

In addition to Korede Awobowale being the chief facilitator, Beehive Tuition Services involved Elaina Boateng, who was the Story Telling Speaker for the day. Elaina Boateng is a Production Coordinator at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a podcaster, host and speaker. Elaina Boateng is a graduate of International Business with Spanish from The University of Warwick, where her fondest memories included hosting her own radio show and fronting many shows for the Warwick TV society. Within her role at (BBC). She has worked across a number of departments, genres and programmes within the global organization, such as Top Gear, The One Show and Children in Need.

Richard Akerele, was the sparking Social Change Workshop Speaker for the leadership short course. Richard Akerele is the founder and CEO of a widening participation charity, East London Connect (ELC), who aimed at helping young people from diverse backgrounds fulfil their full educational and career potentials. Richard received his first degree in German and Business Studies from the University of Warwick.

The second batch of the Students on field trip to UK, though very few in number, had a unique opportunity of meeting with the Speaker of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Cllr. Victoria Obaze at the Speaker’s Parlour on October 28, 2019, and also the Mayor of the London Borough of Brent, Cllr. Ernest Ezeajughi at the Mayor’s Parlour of October 31, 2019, as the usual custom for Eassociates Consulting in creating an adequate platform for the students to meet with high life achievers in the cities visited by them, for appropriate role modelling, mentoring and eventual networking.

The Managing Consultant of Eassociates Consulting, Ms. Abiola Awosanya also seize the opportunity to present the Eassociates Consulting’s Brochure to the Speaker of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Cllr. Victoria Obaze during the courtesy call.

The Executive Director, Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS), Chief Bimbo Roberts Folayan, who was once the Chairman of the Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, (CANUK) also visited the children in the hotel to officially welcome them to London and to intimate them about life in London for young adults, and to also offer his words of encouragement to spur them into greatness, as his usual custom during each Eassociates Consulting’s Students Educational Tour to London, UK.

The students equally had enough time to visit the Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood, Buckingham Palace, and Tower Hill, complementing it with River Thames Boat Ride from Tower Hill to Westminster Abbey. The boat took them round some of the historical places in London with full commentary in English.

They also went shopping at Croydon City Centre and Stratford Shopping Mall.

They were all grateful for the opportunity to participate and be imparted.

The first field trip of 2019 Students’ Educational Tour to London, United Kingdom was a wow event for the participants from Queens College, Yaba, Lagos and Babcock University High School, Ilishan Remo. The tour took place from August 10 – 19, 2019 with 10 children and 2 accompanying adults from Eassociates Consulting.

The Tour to London, United Kingdom was also designed as a delightful comfortable / luxury vacation for students with provision of Nigerian dishes for dinner, creating a feeling of “home away from home” for all the participants, while staying at Ibis Hotel London Barking for their entire period of stay in London.

The Executive Director, Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS), Chief Bimbo Roberts Folayan, who was once the Chairman of the Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, (CANUK) visited the children in the hotel to officially welcome them to London and to intimate them about life in London for young adults, and to also offer his words of encouragement to spur them into greatness.

A leadership short course 101 and 102 organized by Beehive Tuition Services was incorporated into their program. This took place at the North Romford Conference Centre on their scheduled dates of August 13 – 14, 2019, with Korede Awobowale, the founder and Managing Director of Beehive Tuition, an educational establishment that seeks to bring the best out of the future generation by providing tuition in formal subjects and workshops on life skills. Korede Awobowale is a trustee of East London Connect, an education-based charity aiming to help black inner-city kids aim higher and obtain a place within a Russell Group University. As a Law graduate from a Russell Group University (University of Warwick), she is passionate about giving other young black students the same educational exposure she had.

Beehive Tuition Services also engaged the services of a few life achievers in various fields of industry as Speakers during the Leadership Short Course, with Christine Eyers as the keynote Eassociates Consulting Speaker. Christine Eyers currently works for St Mungo’s, a Housing Charity that work with people who are Homeless, at risk, and those living on the streets.

The first batch of 2019 Students’ Educational Tour to London, United Kingdom was a combination of knowledge enhancement program and fun filled activities, with an adequate platform for the students to meet with high life achievers and the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom for knowledge impartation, appropriate role model, and eventual networking.

The students were grateful for the warm reception received at the Nigerian High Commission in London, with the Nigerian High Commissioner, His Excellency, Ambassador George Adesola Oguntade, CFR, CON in attendance, ensuring that they were all made comfortable and also attending to the young adults’ questions and observations, while they were all officially entertained.

The participants were also able to pay a courtesy call on the Mayor of the London Borough of Brent, Cllr. Ernest Ezeajughi, with the Strategic Director, Children and Young People and statutory Director of Children’s Services (DCS) for the London Borough of Brent, Ms. Gail Tolley in attendance. This event also turned out to be a very memorable outing for all the participants. The Managing Consultant of Eassociates Consulting, Ms. Abiola Awosanya later presented the Eassociates Consulting’s Brochure to Ms. Gail Tolley – the Strategic Director, Children and Young People and statutory Director of Children’s Services (DCS) for the London Borough of Brent.

The entire program was a unique and exciting one for all the participants who were entirely grateful for being able to participate.

A well-structured family fun educational tour to London, United Kingdom from August 11 – 21, 2015 was organized for participants from two Schools, namely;

▪ Babcock University High School, Ilishan and

▪ Barbara Cox Schools, Festac, Lagos.

The participants went on British Airways, which is our official Airline to the United Kingdom, and were all accommodated at Ibis Styles London Croydon.

After due rest and appropriate freshen up, the participants were fully informed about their entire program of visits with our usual formal introduction to London. They were later prearranged into small groups and taken on a familiarize tour of the neighborhood and its precincts.

The participants went on a tour of several educational and historical places such as the Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Trafalgar Square, Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood, Tower Hill.

They also had the opportunity of taking a Boat Ride from the Tower Hill to London Eye with full commentary in English while taking them round some of the historical places in London.

As our usual tradition in the United Kingdom, we paid a courtesy call on the Acting High Commissioner, His Excellency, Mr. Olukunle Akindele Bamgbose, who ensured that all his able Ministers were present at the welcome reception for us and also freely gave his fatherly advice, being very patient in

attending to our group’s questions, observations and also ensuring everyone is made comfortable despite his very busy schedule.

We also had the opportunities of paying courtesy calls on some dignitaries in the United Kingdom, which includes the followings:

  • The Mayor of the London Borough of Croydon, Councillor Felicia Hay-Justice
  • The Mayor of the London Borough of Hackney, Councillor Sade Etti
  • The Executive Director, Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NDDIS) and the immediate past Chairman of the Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, (CANUK), Chief Bimbo Roberts Folayan

The participants were extremely eager to take photographs with all the dignitaries visited and there is no doubt about the fact that our participants were all totally awe-struck and captivated with the various places visited, and they were able to engage in.

This is a yearly program undertaken by Eassociates Consulting which gives opportunities to participants to visit, learn and connect with dignitaries for knowledge impartations and role models tutoring.

A family fun education tour to London, United Kingdom was planned and implemented between the periods of August 9 – 20, 2014 with participations from two (2) schools, namely:

▪ Babcock University High School, Ilishan and

▪ Barbara Cox Schools, Festac.

The group embarked on the journey via our official airline, British Airways and stayed at Ibis London Barking Hotel with three (3) people occupying a double bed + one single bed accommodation.

On arrival, the participants were allowed to settle down in their hotel accommodation and were fully intimated about their program for the visits with a formal introduction to London and eventually structured into teams. A familiarization tour of the local neighborhood, precinct, etc was carried out and later retired back into their hotel rooms after a sumptuous dinner.

We had in attendance, a British Citizen from the United Kingdom as an additional tour guide to accompany the group.

The tour was aimed at offering the participants a highly informative and pleasurable tour.

The participants had the opportunity to visit several educational and historical places such as the Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood, Tower Hill and eventual Boat Ride from Tower Hill to London Eye. The boat took all the participants round some of the historical places in London with full commentary in English.

As our usual tradition in the United Kingdom, we paid a courtesy call on our dear eloquent and amiable father, the Nigerian High Commissioner, His excellency, Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, OFR, CFR, who out of his busy schedules,

created the time to receive us and also ensures that all his able Ministers were present at the welcome reception for us with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and BEN TV to cover the event.

The participants later visited Stratford Shopping Mall, the Olympic Stadium and the neighborhood street market for both shopping and sight-seeing.

Our Firm organized a family fun educational tour to London, United Kingdom for four (4) different schools with 16 participants in total.

The participating Schools were:

  • Barbara Cox Schools with the Vice Principal as the accompany adult from the School
  • Mictec International School – The Director visited the participants in London
  • Doland International School including their Head of ICT Department as their accompany adult
  • Providence Heights School

The tour took place between August 9 – 21, 2013 with 13 children and 3 adults including the mother of 5 of the participating children.

We engage the services a British Citizen as an additional tour guide to complement the efforts of our Managing Consultant who accompany the group to London, United Kingdom.

The tour was designed as an educative and pleasurable experience for the participants, most especially the children, with our first visit as a courtesy call on The Nigerian Ambassador, His Excellency Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, OFR, CFR. His Excellency and his able Ministers were delighted to receive us at The Nigerian High Commission where we were officially entertained.

We also visited many Educational, Historical and Amusement sites such as The Science Museum, The Parliament Building, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Natural History Museum, Tower Hill, Trocadero, etc. We went shopping at various places like Romford Shopping Mall, Stratford Shopping Mall, the neighbourhood street market, etc.

All the participants also went on a boat ride from Westminster Abbey to Tower Hill. The boat took them round some of the historical places in London with full commentary in English.

The Director of Mictec International School, Dr. Michael Tejuosho visited the participants in their hotel in London and was very delighted with his observations and the participants comments about the tour program.
