STUDENTS' EDUCATIONAL TOURS - GERMANY

The Schools that participated in the 2018 Family Fun Educational Tour to Berlin, Germany are Queens College Yaba, Kings College Lagos and Mictec International Schools, Ogudu, Ojota, Lagos.

The program was attested to be a very memorable and pleasurable trip for all the participants, including their parents. They were thoroughly impressed and fascinated by the various interesting places visited, including a guided tour of the German Bundestag, showing them the office of the Prime Minister, Angela Merkel, as well an audio guided tour of the Parliament’s Dome.

Most excitingly is our incorporation of a “home away for home” experience for them, by staying in our official 3-Star hotel – Suite Novotel Berlin City PotsdamerPlatz, while also having a first hand knowledge of the city, complementing the real essence of the Tour. 

 The participants visited various interesting places, with guided tours of historical places, such as: Brandenburg Gate, Memorial of the murdered Jews of Europe, Hitler’s Bunker, Berlin Cathedral Church, Zoological garden, Sea Life Acquarium, an audio guided boat ride, general sightseeing and shopping at Alexander Platz.

 They also visited the Nigerian Embassy Berlin, where they paid a courtesy call on the Head of Mission, while the Deputy Head of Mission, (Mrs.) MobolajiSakiratOgundero received the group, attending to the participants’ questions and observation, while also creating room for an Interactive section that also involved the effective participation of the Director/Principal of Queens College Yaba, lagos – Chief (Mrs) Betty Abiola Are, who was the Tour Leader for Queens College Lagos and Kings College Yaba.

Interestingly, among the Participants were the 3 significant tribes in Nigeria – Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa, with them proudly show casing our diverse culture in Nigeria, by dressing in their different native attires.

2018 Students Educational Tour to Germany

2017 presented a singular opportunity for a Family Fun Tour to Germany from August 16 – August 27 2017 for five different Schools, namely:

▪ Mictec International Schools, Ogudu

▪ Babcock University High School, Ilishan

▪ Doland International Schools, Akute

▪ Barbara Cox Schools, Festac, Lagos

▪ The Communion School, Festac, Lagos

It was a combination of both Educational and enjoyable trip within Germany, with the participants visiting various interesting places.

The participants had the opportunity of staying at our official hotel in Berlin – Novotel Suites Berlin City Potsdammer Platz for the entire period of their stay.

On their arrival in Berlin, they were introduced to the programme for the visits, with appropriate introduction to Berlin, and organisation into teams. They were taken through familiarisation with local neighbourhood, precinct, etc.

Their first point of call was The Nigerian Embassy, Berlin, Germany, where they paid a courtesy call on the Nigerian Acting Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Mobolaji Sakirat Ogundero who presented each student with unique gifts after the meeting and took group photographs with them, as well as personal photographs with each participant. The Managing Consultant, Abiola Awosanya also use the opportunity to present Eassociates Consulting’s Brochure to Her Excellency, the Acting Nigerian Ambassador to Germany.

Guided tours of some places were also carried out during their stay in Berlin, where they learnt the history and nature of some sites such as: The Story of Berlin, Zoological Garden, Sea life Aquariums, and Animal Garden (Tiergarten).

The participants visited Brandenburg Gate, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Hitler’s Bunker, Berlin Cathedral Church, Fernsehturm TV Tower, and PANORAMAPUNKT Potsdamer Platz. They eventually went for shopping at Alexander Platz and Kurfürstendamm.

The students also went on a one-hour audio guided boat ride from the famous Friedrichstrasse. The boat took them round the historical places in Berlin with full commentary in English.

A guided tour to the German Parliament Building (Deutscher Bundestag) was also conducted along with the audio guided tour of the Roof Terrace and Dome of the Reichstag Building with a view of the parliamentary and government district.

On August 24, 2015, we embarked on a tour to Berlin, Germany on board Lufthansa Airline with ten (10) participants from the following schools:

▪ Babcock University High School, Ilishan

▪ Doland International Schools, Akute

▪ Mictec International Schools, Ogudu

▪ Deril Academy, Old Ife Road, Ibadan

The program was from August 24 – September 4, 2015.

The program was attested to by the participants as being unique and memorable, and were who were all grateful for being part of the program for the year. They were all impressed and fascinated with the various places visited and with our incorporating a “home away from home” experience for them by staying in a 3 Star Hotel – Suite Novotel Berlin City Potsdamer Platz, while also having a firsthand knowledge of the City, which is the essence of the tour.

As our usual practice, the participants were taking on a familiarization tour of the vicinity of the hotel after an adequate freshen up and rest in their allocated rooms.

They were later briefed about the program and also distributed to their various groups for effective team responsibilities.

The participants had the opportunity of visiting the Story of Berlin museum where they had firsthand information of how the citizens were able to cope during the war and thereafter. They also visited Brandenburg Gate and Hitler’s Bunker, with vivid explanation on the era of Hitler.

They also visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Berlin Cathedral, the famous Friedrichstrasse, Zoological Garden and the Sea Life Aquariums.

The participants also had a singular opportunity of meeting with the Nigerian Acting Ambassador to Germany; His Excellency Mr. Kenneth O. Okeh and his Ministers, who took their time to patiently attend to the participants’ questions and observations.

They were also given a very welcoming reception, while ensuring that everyone went home with pleasant gifts from the Acting Ambassador.

The participants also took part in one of the intra city audio guided boat ride from the famous Friedrichstrasse with full commentary in English on the boat which took them round the historical places in the city of Berlin for one hour.

September 2013 Students Educational Tour to Germany

An educational tour to Berlin, Germany was initiated by our Firm for Babcock University High School, Ilishan, Ilishan-Remo (BUHS) in March, 2013 and executed between September 2 – 14, 2013.

A total of eleven (11) participants which comprises of students from three (3) families of two (2) participants each and five (5) other students took part in the program. Ten (10) out of the eleven students that took part in the program are students of BUHS while the eleventh person is a sibling of one of the students from BUHS, a student of Covenant University, Otta, Ogun State.

Our Firm also employed a young British Citizen from United Kingdom as an additional Tour Guide to accompany the group.

It was an all-embracing educational tour of Berlin, Germany. The various places visited include the Brandenburg Gate, Hotel Avlon, Humboldt University, The Berlin Wall, The Story of Berlin, Nigerian Embassy in Germany where we were hosted by His Excellency Mr. Abdu Usman Abubakar, The Nigerian Ambassador to The Federal Republic of Germany.

A guided tour to the Parliament Building (Deutscher Bundestag) was also conducted along with the audio guide tour of the Roof Terrace and Dome of the Reichstag Building with a view of the parliamentary and government district.
